Description:
Licorice is a shrubby hardy perennial plant with composed leaves.
It has small and blue purplish flowers in bunches.
The fruit is a glabrous flattened pod, of the Fabaceae family.
The used parts are the roots.
Properties:
Licorice is characterized by a principal component, the glycyrrhizin which presents a strong anti-inflammatory activity.
The Licorice extract has the same properties than all the extracts containing saponosides, such as: anti-inflammatory, anti-edematous, antispasmodic and healing properties.

This extract is also purifying and sebostatic, it fluxes the mucosities.
It hardens and smoothens fabrics.
It lowers the arterial pressure.
It is also used like aromatising.

The Licorice extract is advised in the symptomatic treatment of inflammatory demonstrations on the skin, such as : solar erythema, seborrheic dermatitis , insect bites.
It is well adapted with the care of the fatty skins (it normalizes them) and of the sensitive or red skins.
It is also contributory in the processing of the wrinkles.
